She says...: Like No Other

It’s currently 1.56am in the morning as I pen this moment down. Everyone is probably fast asleep already, the ones just next to my room, the one up on the 11^th floor, the ones in Block A both ground and 18^th floor. I’ve just been through, perhaps, really, THE most thoughtful and amazing first hour of the annual 22^nd day of March.

The condo doesn’t have any internet connection, so here I am typing this unforgettable moment on Microsoft Word, so that I’ll never, ever forget this feeling I’m feeling now :D

So the night started off with me overnapping in the evening, then rushing for dinner, and scolding myself for being late for a meeting at 8. Rushed up to the 11^th floor but no one was there. No signs of the President, Secretary nor the Event Directors. Vice Secretary was having a delicious-looking plate of spaghetti though =P

I was early. Hm.

Wai Yee came up a few minutes later – all geared up with her laptop and cables. She then made a few calls and then announced meeting was cancelled because Ms. President forgot about the meeting. I was like WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! Of course, I was damn happy there wasn’t gonna be a meeting =P But. I RUSHED AND DIDNT HAVE A SATISFYING DINNER! :(

Anyway... Went back down to my unit, and started during Economics tutorial. At 12am, a text message came in. First REAL birthday message! =D

Thank you Ken Lin for the so-very punctual wish! It made me smile after a series of badly-done Economics tutorials. :D

Mummy called me a few minutes later, Daddy sang me a birthday song through the phone, and Kor gave me a virtual kiss! Of course, then there was a series of virtual kisses going back and forth from my phone to my Mum’s. :$

So there I was talking on the phone when suddenly the whole unit went pitch black. Apparently there was a short-circuit. Saw that Shan Wei was taking care of the problem, I walked back into my room and then through the connecting toilet’s door, in came Livia and Wai Yee – one holding a cake and one holding a camera – singing Happy Birthday! I was caught offguard and I practically shouted > <

So there wasn’t really a meeting and there wasn’t really a short circuit. It was all planned by 5 lovely girls I met back in June 2010 for my 19^th birthday – my first birthday away from home!

I was out of words. My cheeks hurt from smiling. I didn’t know how to react!

Took pictures, then sat and talked for a bit, moved from the living room to the dining area, where we complained how the cleaner keeps stealing our food – my almost full cookie box is now almost empty! – and how whatever Livia likes, I don’t, and whatever I like, Livia doesn’t =(

Then someone commented – I have no idea who – that there was a dark figure who just passed by our window. Then Xing Min came in with his laptop and Wei Yuan screamed!

So next up in the list – Thank you Xing Min, for the beautiful video! I really really like it – THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! I hope it didn’t take too much of your study time! And don’t worry about your test, I’m sure you’ll do better in the future! =DDD I hereby, forgive you for lying to me about your Kuching electricity bicycle lifestyle! :P

That was it – my 19^th birthday celebration at 12am in the morning. Everyone returned to their unit and respective rooms. My phone battery died – again!

Charged it and turned it on – as instructed =P – and got a text message, saying:
“Go to ur room, close the door, look beneath ur bed and open your eyes :)”

And so I did. I didn’t close the door, and my eyes were already wide open. =P Sitting sneakily under my bed was a bag and in it a huge silver box, all donned up in pink ribbon! I went “OH MY GOD!” over and over again ><

Then Shan Wei and Wei Yuan JUST HAD TO SCARE ME by saying, “Be careful ah, open slowly! It may be a snake inside! Or a spider!” And so I opened the box from a distance =___________= I feel so stupid now. LOL

The lid came off, and in the box, there was no snake, no spider, no scary pop-out clowns. Inside the box, was a LOT of sweets, snacks, and cookies!

And the best part of the gift? The handwritten card! =)

Yes you can see that the smile is like. Plastered on my face :D

the gift and the whole surprise is truly amazing. I love it to bits! Now there will never be a hungry me studying late into the night! (Actually I kinda am abit hungry now.....) I love the way you mash all our conversations up and pick out the really small details and make it so beautiful! The box, the fish-y jokes, the grocery shopping, and your hatred towards cookies! And the pictures – thankyou. This card will be the first thing that will be in the box (after all the snacks are gone!) And really, I cannot thank you enough. Thank you for the cake, thankyou for driving all the way to KL just to get it, and how you had to go to another place to buy the candle and the lighter because THINGS JUST DONT COME TOGETHER! Thankyou for giving me the first thing that means the world to me! Thank you for letting me feel the feeling of having something so memorable that I will (I REALLY THINK I WILL) cry, years later when I open up the box and look through the things I keep inside! Thank you, for such an amazing 19^th!! <3!

Thank you for always being the latest one out the door so I didn’t look like I was the latest eventhough I really am the latest to wake up and slowest one to get ready! Hahahah! And I am not cool okay, I was panicking too when the electricity went off!
